In September Martina, Paul, Carly and several other RPs were invited to West Midlands Safari Park, for the National Service User Awards. Martina had been nominated for Service User of the Year and, despite not winning, she said that to be nominated was a win itself, and that she was incredibly grateful to have been given the opportunity.
We are incredibly proud of all the hard work Martina does

Our Review Event was incredibly successful and we have had some really positive feedback.
We really hope that those people who attended had a really good day.
A huge thanks to those Recovery Partners, and Service Users who were involved in the organising of the day and to those who stood up in front of the audience to tell their stories and read their poems.
Those of you who were at the Review Event would have seen the video that Luke produced, with help from Jo and Luke's brother, Erik, showing how Co-Production could be done really badly, and then an example of positive Co-Production.
If you would like to see it the link is here - it is well worth a watch!

Hello I am a recovery partner, Carl Stuckes and I recently attended two Psychology forums, one for Psychologists and one for Assistant Psychologists.
My involvement as a Recovery Partner was well received and I was made to feel very welcome and comfortable at both events attended. I was involved within all table discussions as both groups discussed the problems they face in their day-to-day roles. My opinions and comments were well received and treated with due respect. I sat through several presentations and guest speakers on various issues groups were facing, these discussions were both informative and well delivered. I found the whole experience excellent and it allowed me to see what working in the mental health field will entail. My views and opinions of working outside the profession were well received and gave the group a different view from a clinical one. Sometimes when you are close to the subject matter you can’t always see issues an outside voice can, which was very welcomed.
The host Marc was very welcoming as well and introduced me to the groups so everyone attending knew why I was there and what for. We also had a debrief to get my views of involvement from a recovery partner perspective. I felt valued and included throughout the two forums and would happily be involved again in such assignments.
Our fortnightly online Connections Meetings are a chance for us to have our say, to give feedback on any assignments that we have been involved in, and to hear from guest speakers and other Recovery Partners.
It is really important that people attend these meetings - Use it or Lose it! - as it gives people the opportunity to pass on feedback and assignment opportunities to other people in the support group meetings. It also means we can check in with the People Participation Team regularly.
These meetings are on Tuesdays at 2pm every two weeks and all Recovery Partners will have been sent the link.
The People Participation Team send out reminders on the morning of the meeting, so please try and attend as many as you can if you are not busy at that time!
